Search Engine submissions

It is possible for anyone to get their own site listed on most search engines, without paying anyone. To get a high ranking for a competitive search term will usually require some financial outlay. For most sites there are only a few search engines that are important to be listed on. Ask yourself how many different search engines do you use. Unless your site needs to be listed on some specialty directories, that apply specifically to your field of interest, You will get the most bang for your buck concentrating on getting your site listed on a few of the most popular search engines. Once you have a few major listings, many others will automatically pick you up. That said, the only way to be sure of being quickly listed on most of the important ones, is to pay a fee to the search engine. There are many excellent Search Engine Marketing consultants out there, but you should expect to pay $1000 and up. Paying someone a small fee, to submit your site to hundreds of search engines is usually a waste of money. If you're doing it yourself, we offer free advice, and some free tools to help with the process. There is a commercial program called Search Engine Commando, that you can use to help manage the process. You can download a free trial version, and if you feel it is useful for you, upgrade to the full version at their Web Site.
